What is a home emergency?
A home emergency is an incident at your home which is sudden, unexpected and requires immediate corrective action to:
- prevent any damage or further damage to your home
- make your home safe and secure.
Home emergencies include:
- roof damage which may cause further damage to your home
- plumbing and drainage issues
- failure of the domestic power supply
- sudden failure of your main heating system
- making the home secure
- loss of use of toilets
- vermin.
Damage caused by wear and tear cannot be covered. Please read your Home Shield policy booklet for a full list of the cover and exclusions.
